Toolkit magazine is a publication that is centered around a text written after “The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction” by Ursula K. Le Guin.

“The carrier bag theory posits that the first tools of humankind were not weapons for hunting but con- tainers for gathering. Similarly, the sewing toolkit, of- ten overlooked in its historical significance, functions as a vessel for holding a wealth of knowledge passed down through generations of women. Sewing has been traditionally associated with women, and the toolkit, a metaphorical “carrier bag,” embodies the collective experiences of women, their knowledge, power, and stories. As they stitch fabric together, they weave narratives, transmitting knowledge from one generation to the next, preserving the essence of feminism.”

ToolKit Magazine, Issue 1 Technology and storytelling is a textual and visual exploration of previously gathered materials and newly written text. The visuals aim to show the layers in my research, the mythical, the historical and the technological. One element in the publication is the silver thread that weaves all information together, this thread is only apparent if you take an image of the publication. Showing that the research is originally rooted in the technological realm.
